FAQs

Q: What areas do you cover for dog behaviour and training services?

A: I work with clients remotely all over the world via online consultations. For in-person sessions, I’m based in Berkshire, UK, and cover areas within a 45-minute radius of GU47. Travel fees apply for locations outside this area.

Q: How do your dog behaviour and training sessions work?

A: I offer both remote and in person sessions for a range of behaviour issues; such as reactivity, aggression, anxiety, and fear, as well as training goals like recall and other essential life skills.

Our work together begins with an initial consultation to assess what’s going on and build a tailored plan that suits your lifestyle. This first session is typically held remotely if your dog shows behaviours such as separation anxiety, fear or aggression to new people, as it allows me to assess behaviour more accurately using video footage and prevents additional stress. Ongoing support is delivered 1:1, either remotely or in person depending on your location and the nature of the issue.

Q: What training methods do you use?

A: I use motivation and choice based training methods, including environmental management, secure attachment foundations, meeting species needs, desensitisation, classical conditioning and reinforcement of alternative behaviours. This means teaching your dog to cooperate without any force and focusing on rewarding the behaviours we want to see more of, and making sure your dog is free from chronic pain, chronic stress, is meeting their species and breed specific needs, has a secure attachment and a safe environment.

Rewards are tailored to what your dog finds most motivating; this could be treats, toys, play, praise, sniffing, access to space, or opportunities to engage with the environment. By making the learning experience positive and relevant to your dog, we build lasting behaviour change that fits into everyday life.

Q: How long will it take to see results?

A: This varies depending on the behaviour we're addressing, your dog's history, and how consistently the training is applied. Some issues may show improvement within a few sessions, while others, like complex fear-based behaviours, require longer term support. We'll discuss realistic expectations during your initial consultation. Most clients work with me for an average of 2 months for less complex cases, and an average of 6 months for cases involving multiple issues, e.g. reactivity and separation anxiety.

Q: Do you offer support between sessions?

A: Yes. My monthly support packages include ongoing guidance between sessions via WhatsApp. This ensures you're supported as you implement your training plan and can ask questions or share updates along the way.

Q: How much do your sessions cost?

A: Prices vary depending on the type of support that’s best suited to you and your dog. I offer both rolling monthly behaviour support programmes, and fixed package bookings for specific training goals.

Because every case is different, I recommend getting in touch so we can chat about the most suitable option for you. I’ll always be upfront about costs and help you choose a plan that works for your situation.
